Schäles Nagle - Executive Director  

I am pleased to introduce myself as Kemmerer Village’s Executive Director. During my thirty-one-year history with Kemmerer Village, I have always been very proud to be part of such a dedicated agency.

I moved to Assumption, IL in 1993 from St. Louis to work as a Clinical Supervisor in one of the Residential Treatment Cottages. As you can imagine, this was quite a culture shock, but a welcome change. I completed my Master of Social Work with Washington University in 1992. In St. Louis, I had worked as a therapist with the Salvation Army’s young children’s residential program and as a resource coordinator with St. Louis Crisis Nursery. Because I wanted to be closer to family in central Illinois, I was eager to move and begin work at Kemmerer Village. My various positions with Kemmerer Village (Clinical Supervisor, Director of Quality Assurance, Director of Clinical Services, Assistant Executive Director) have deepened my devotion to our agency goals.  

I am honored to serve Kemmerer Village’s Mission working in collaboration with our dedicated Board of Directors, our staff, our community partners, and our families.

Brett Beck – Director of Support Operations 

Brett has been with Kemmerer Village since 1995, after graduating from SIU Carbondale with a BA in Psychology. During that time, he worked as a Residential Counselor and then a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. In 2000, he left the agency when his wife Jennifer transferred her job out of state.

He returned in 2001 when they moved back and resumed his role in Therapeutic Recreation. In the ensuing years, he served as a Shift Supervisor,  Quality Assurance Assistant,  as well as Director of Quality Assurance, and Residential Admissions. Brett also served as a backup to the Maintenance and IT directors,  before moving into his current position as Director Of Campus Support Operations

Jeannie Karbach - Director of Community Operations 

Jeannie M. Karbach, M.Ed. serves as Director of Community Operations at Kemmerer Village, bringing more than 25 years of experience in behavioral health, child welfare, residential treatment, and community-based services. A native Illinoisan, Jeannie earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Education in Counseling from Sul Ross State University before beginning her professional career in Texas, where she worked in community mental health, residential treatment, and substance abuse services before returning home to Illinois to be closer to family.

Jeannie joined Kemmerer Village in 2001 as a Clinical Supervisor and has advanced through multiple leadership roles over the course of her career. She later served as Clinical Milieu Manager for Residential Treatment, where she refined her strengths in administration, team development, and program operations. In 2016, she was appointed Director of Community Services and assumed leadership of the foster care program. Under her direction, the department experienced significant growth, expanding to more than three times its size while strengthening services and support for children and families throughout the region.

Now serving as Director of Community Operations, Jeannie provides oversight for several key agency programs, including foster care, Camp Carew, and the Assumption Community Childcare Center. Her leadership has been recognized statewide. In 2022, the Foster Parent Law Implementation Plan she authored was named Illinois’ top plan in Innovative Services and was formally recognized by the Illinois State Senate. Earlier in her career, she was honored as Employee of the Quarter while serving with West Texas Centers for MHMR.

Jeannie is known for her thoughtful leadership, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to children and families. She remains dedicated to strengthening communities, developing future leaders, and advancing the mission of Kemmerer Village.
