The Horsemanship Program activity goals are to develop an improved self image, confidence, learn responsibility, and provide positive social integration for children. The children learn to set goals and achieve those goals by building relationships with the horses based on trust and respect. Through this program the children learn proper riding techniques, training methods, as well as caring for the horses. The children may also have opportunities to use what they have learned to be part of local horse activities including assisting other special needs children with therapeutic riding.
